Centennial Development Of West Lake New Poetry

Hangzhou West Lake,a historic,grand landscape with places of interest,has attracted countless literati to enjoy and recite here.Classical West Lake poems originated very early,which can be seen specifically described approximately in the Southern Qi dynasty and thrived in the Tang and Song dynasties over several thousand years of development.As for the style of Classical West Lake,it is relatively rigid among the numerous pieces,and can be divided into scenic poem and patriotic poem respectively.In 1917,eight colloquial poems written by Hu Shi indicated that the new poems start out on the stage of history.After that some poets started to carry out the brand new writing style to chant the classical West Lake.For the next one hundred year,this new form continuously demonstrated fusion and separation from the classical poems.Meanwhile,the new type kept carrying forward the traditional merits and bringing forth new ideas.Overall,this paper is for the 100th anniversary of new poem,and it focus on a-hundred-year new poems of the West Lake based on the collection of hundreds of poems in various periods,the system of evolution of the new poem as well as the summary of the characteristics of the new poems of the West Lake.This paper can be divided into four chapters:The first chapter mainly introduces the significance and background of this research,and the definition of the new poems of the West Lake.The second chapter chases the development of the new poems of the West Lake from the 1920s to the 1930s,and generalizes its two characteristics that the inheritance of traditions and transmission to the west separately.The third chapter focuses on the political irony and political praise of the styles of the new West Lake poems between 1940s and 1960s,and analyzes the origin for the new style also the sharp decline in the number of the poems.The fourth chapter primarily discusses the new poems of the West Lake since the 1970s.This paper selects poems by Zhangzao,Lili and OuYang Jianghe as the research object and summarizes the two characteristics of new West Lake poem that are emphasizing philosophy and granting new symbol to the West Lake.
