Engels in Marx's grave speech pointed that Marx has many unique theories,among which "two discoveries" are the most outstanding,and the historical materialism is one of them.Exploration,Discovery,application and development of historical materialism runs through the whole process of Marx's theoretical research.In German Ideology,Marx made the fundamental principle of historical materialism——social being determines social consciousness.It marks the birth of the materialist conception of history.For a variety of reasons,the German Ideology was not published before Marx's death.Therefore,the publication of the Poverty of Philosophy marks the first public appearance of historical materialism.In the Poverty of Philosophy,Marx first used the historical materialism to criticize Proudhon's historical idealism and metaphysics,and he further enriched and developed the historical materialism.This paper is based on Marx's Poverty of Philosophy,focuses on the theory of historical materialism and its important value,In order to further promote the study and inheritance of Marxist philosophy.The full text includes four parts:The first part briefly introduces the research reason,research status,research methods and main innovation points of the historical materialism in the Philosophy of Poverty.The second part expounds the economic conditions,the social class conditions and the thought conditions of the Poverty of Philosophy.In the 1840s,the profound influence of the first Industrial Revolution made the rapid development of capitalist economy,the capitalist basic contradiction is sharpened,economic crisis periodically outbreaks,these are the economic condition of the Poverty of Philosophy;With the development of capitalist economy,the working class of the Western Europe as an independent political force boarded the stage of history for the first time,it has an urgent need to have a scientific revolution theory indicating the way forward is the class condition of the Poverty of Philosophy;The creation of historical materialism and Marx's research on political economy are the ideological conditions of the birth of "the Poverty of Philosophy".The third part:it reveals the materialist historical thought contained in the Poverty of Philosophy.First of all,Marx's exploration of the materialist conception of historical materialism was first sorted out before the birth of "the Poverty of Philosophy",and tried to clarify the historical context of the formation of Marx's historical materialism.Then,further study of historical materialism in "the German Ideology" and "the Poverty of Philosophy",emphasis on "the Poverty of Philosophy" has a further development of historical materialism than "the German Ideology".The fourth part:It analyzes the historical status and the important value of historical materialism in the Philosophy of Poverty.In place,the Poverty of Philosophy is the first public appearance and development of historical materialism,which lays a philosophical foundation for scientific socialism and Marxist political economics.In practice,the reality of our country at present,standing in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics on the historical position,we firm the belief of Marxism,adhere to the guidance of the historical materialism,it will benefit to achieve the Two Centenary Goal and the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
