Writing is of great importance as one of the major channels for learners to produce English language.To improve language learners' writing ability,it is far from enough to provide them with teachers9 feedback.More efforts should be made to give students timely,constructive and in detail.Given that,people develop the automatic scoring systems to help English writing teaching with the help of network technology.Among the automatic scoring systems,Juku is the most widely used now.This thesis will study and discuss the feedback of Juku automatic scoring system in high school English writing.This thesis explores the following questions:(1)How can Juku automatic scoring system affect the English writing motivation of senior high school students?(2)How can Juku automatic scoring system affect the English writing ability of senior high school students?And what aspects of high school students' writing are affected by Juku?(3)How do students react to Juku automatic scoring system?To answer these questions,the author carried out a three-month teaching experiment.The subjects are two classes of Grade Two in a senior high school in Nanjing.One class is randomly selected as experimental class,where the teacher adopts Juku automatic feedback assisted by teachers'feedback on writing.The other one is control class,where the traditional teachers' feedback is used for writing.The research methods include pretest,post-test,questionnaires prior to and post the experiment,as well as a semi-structured interview.Meanwhile,it also examines the changes in students' writing ability influenced by the writing feedback which combines Juku with teacher feedback.The results are as follows:(1)Juku automatic scoring system can stimulate students'writing motivation effectively by promoting students to revise their compositions continuously.(2)Juku automatic scoring system can effectively improve students' English writing ability.And Juku can strengthen students' mastery of vocabulary,grammar and detailed mechanic aspects.The errors in vocabulary,grammar and mechanic details are obviously reduced in the experimental class.(3)Students think that Juku feedback is not sufficient or effective in terms of structure and content,so the teacher should supplement and strengthen the feedback on the structure and content of the students' written text.The great majority of students prefer Juku automatic feedback in connection to teachers'feedback.Therefore,teachers can make the best use of Juku to check vocabulary,grammar and detail errors in writing feedback.Teachers also need to pay more attention to the feedback of structure and content on the students' writing.Teachers can use the advantages of Juku automatic scoring system to develop a set of teaching English writing model that would be suitable for high school students so as to maximize the efficiency of English writing feedback.
