Writing,one of the basic skills of language learning,is the embodiment of the comprehensive ability of language learners.With the emerging of process writing approach,teacher feedback has been used as a traditional way of correcting compositions in English writing teaching in senior high school.But in recent years,with the rapid development of science and technology,computer has been applied to the teaching of English writing.The automatic scoring system based on corpus and cloud computing has been favored by many English teachers and researchers.The domestic and foreign scholars have done a lot of researches on teacher feedback in English writing teaching,but the research of computer feedback is much less,and its research subject is mainly concentrated in universities,but less in senior high school.Whether the automatic scoring system feedback is popularized in senior high school and whether students agree with the feedback need verifying through doing further study.The study is mainly based on the Output Hypothesis,the Noticing Hypothesis and the Interaction Hypothesis.The quantitative research and qualitative research are adopted.In this study,two classes of the first grade of senior high school are tested,investigated and interviewed in the Experimental Senior High School Attached to Huaibei Normal University.The study lasts 13 weeks and finally collects 420 writing samples and students' questionnaire to analyze the characteristics of teacher feedback and automatic scoring system feedback,different effects on students' English writing and students' attitudes and expectations to different feedback.The results show that:first,the types of teacher feedback are mainly direct feedback and focused feedback.The teacher often offers positive,negotiable and encouraging comments.On the contrary,the types of automatic scoring system feedback are mainly indirect feedback and unfocused feedback.The comment is objective but single and much procedural.It only focuses on grammar and lacks of humanistic care.Second,the two kinds of feedback play an important role in improving students' English writing level,but teacher feedback is more effective.Third,students have positive attitudes towards these two kinds of feedback.Their recognition of teacher feedback is relatively higher,but the automatic scoring system feedback is more useful inrelieving students' pressure,arousing students' interest and cultivating students' self-learning ability in learning English.Above all,the author suggests that in good English teaching conditions,teachers can attempt to apply automatic scoring system to English writing teaching.They can combine the advantages of teacher feedback and automatic scoring system feedback,and try to construct a new English writing feedback mode.
