The Appearance And Early Development Of Civil Environmental Organizations In Britain From The 1850s To The Early Of 20th Century

From the 18th century on,England stepped into a period of high-speed development,great changes brought by industrial revolution shocked the world,some people with vision realized some changes and problems happened in the city and country,they organized spontaneously to solve these problems.In the early of 19th century,some people and small organizations cared about environment appeared,at that time,they had little effect,but they laid the foundation for the civil environmental organizations in the future,among them,some worked on teaching people how to keep health in the case of heavy air and water pollution,another tried to relieve the degree of pollution through technical means,at the same time,they attempted to prevent factories from discharging waste gas and water with their own influence,solved the problem from the source in order to avoid the situation getting worse and worse,they communicated with government to get their support.The presence of these organizations strengthens the awareness of environment protection,makes people realize that environment is very close to their own life,it shouldn't become the victim of economic development,makes contributions to the success of controlling environmental pollution.This paper is divided into five parts,the first is "introduction" to state the significance of the subject and research status,clear up conception of this paper,put forward core point;the second is to discuss "the background of the appearance of British civil environmental organizations" in thel 9th century;the third discussed "the appearance and development of civil environmental organizations" from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century in Britain;the forth analyzed British"civil environmental organizations' work and influence" in the initial stage;the fifth is "conclusion" concluding a short summary.
