This article targets the Chinese learners in Madagascar as the research object.Through experimental analysis,we investigated their ability to perceive tones and their Chinese single-tone errors.The subjects were divided into two levels of high and medium grades.The test method used is divided into two parts:The first one consists of a test through questionnaires on the learners' ability to perceive single-tone and double-tones and also "yi" and "bu" tone-changes.The second test consist of checking the learner's tone difficulty and their tone performance through PRAAT software voice analysis.The first experimental result shows the capacity of the Malagasy Chinese learners to perceive single-tone.Concerning the perception of double tones,at a certain rate,there are differences between two levels of results.As far as "yi" and "bu" tone is concerned then,the Malagasy students find it more difficult to readjust the "yi" ones.The second test shows the difficulty faced by Malagasy students to get adjusted on the second and third tones.Apart from the forth tone the errors on the other three tones are more significant.After the test,we found out the causes of the Malagasy students maladjustment,and so for these reasons we put forward a tonal teaching strategies and suggestions.The author hopes that this article will provide a focus on the beginning of Chinese tonal teaching to Malagasy learners as well as to draw Malagasy students to pay attention to the importance of the syllabic tones.
