Collaborative inhibition is a phenomenon that in recollection stage, the collaborative groups usually recall less than the sum of same amount of participants recalled individually(non-redundant).Memory monitoring is a process that individuals evaluate the performance of their ongoing memory tasks. The present study introduced the memory monitoring into the collaborative memory, and tried to examine the boundary of collaborative inhibition in collaborative memory and the development trend of ease of learning(EOL)and judgment of confidence(JOC)in collaborative inhibition by five experiments of two studies.Study 1 adopted the standard collaborative inhibition paradigm, used 3 experiments to reveal the boundary of collaborative inhibition.Experiment 1 selected strangers to learn 30 unrelated words;Experiment 2 selected non-strangers to learn 30 unrelated words;Experiment 3 selected non-strangers to learn 60 unrelated words. The results showed that:There is no collaborative inhibition in strangers among experiment 1;In experiment 2 and experiment 3,the correct rate of group recall in the nominal group was significantly better than the collaborative group, and there is a collaborative inhibition. But there was no difference in the level of collaborative inhibition. This indicated that The relationship between the members of the collaboration group can restrict the collaboration inhibition, and the length do not influence the collaborative inhibition and the level of it.Study 2 designed 2 experiments to explore the development tendency of collaborative inhibition and its memory monitoring.Experiment 4 used a 3(grade:3rd,5th,8th)x 2(recall conditions:collaborative group, nominal group)mixed design to investigate the development tendency of collaborative inhibition. The grade was between-subjects factor, and the recall condition was within-subjects factor. The results showed that:The the correct rate of group recall improved with grade; There was no collaborative inhibition among the 3rd,but there was a collaborative inhibition in 5th and 8th.Experiment 5 increased EOL and JOC,used a 3(grade:3rd,5th,8th)x 2(recall conditions:collaborative group, nominal group)between-subjects design to investigate the development tendency of the ability of EOL and JOC in collaborative inhibition. The results showed that:The correct rate of group recall improved with grade; The EOL of nominal group was higher the collaborative group; There was no connection between EOL and the correct rate of group recall in collaborative memory; The relative accuracy of EOL in 5th was higher than 8th;Compared with 3rd and 5th,the JOC value and its absolute accuracy were more higher, showed more rational confidence; The absolute accuracy of JOC in nominal group was higher than collaborative group.According to the data of those experiments above,it was concluded that:?There were two boundaries of collaborative inhibition:the relationship and the age. There is a collaborative inhibition in non-strangers group. There also is a collaborative memory above primary three.? The length of learning materials can affect the correct rate of group recall, but not affect the collaborative inhibition. This shows that the length of learning materials is not the boundaries of collaborative inhibition.?To some extent, the EOL can eliminate the negative effects of collaboration. No matter how old participants are, compared with the nominal group, the collaborative group tend to overestimate the difficulty of the task, and to make a lower task to determine the difficulty. The primary five is a key period for the development of the relative accuracy of EOL.?In collaborative memory, children show greater rational confidence with grade.
