It seems destined that Wang Meng,a Han writer who tells stories about Xinjiang,cannot be separated from Xinjiang.Xinjiang's folk customs have left a profound mark on Wang,and made his epic work Here Is the Scenery with 700,000 words.This paper tries to analyze the novel from the perspective of folk culture,find the frontier flavor of Xinjiang as well as explore the aesthetic value and ethos revealed in the creating novel of the folk culture.Chapter one summarizes the profound impact of Uygur folklore on Wang's novel creation.Sixteen years' life in Xinjiang is the source of Wang's creative energy,and a colorful Uygur folklore provides Wang with abundant resources.Uygur language gives him a key to the gate of Xinjiang's culture.Uygur folk songs inspire him to create works that is full of characteristics of Xinjiang's folklore,and the philosophy of “to enjoy and love life” has trigged a change of his thinking.Chapter two discusses the folk culture in his novel.First,it reveals the connotation of the Uygur cooking culture--to venerate and be thankful for food,based on the description of the food Nang.Second,the description of Uygur's love and marriage reveals their marriage ethics:The fresh blood that is poured into the traditional Marriage Concept of Uygur by the Modern marriage concept;Uygurs' tolerance and respect for remarried women;the multi characteristics of nationalities and culture that is embodied in Uygurs' marriage concept.Third,to show Uygur's national belief by the description of the worship of wisdom and beauty.Chapter three expounds folk writing of Wang's novel.The first part is about Wang's Folk Sentiments,the second,the folk world which is constructed in his novel,and the third is to extract the literary significance from his folk writing.Wang observes and experiences life deeply,and accumulates life materials with the high consciousness of intellectuals.He writes down Xinjiang people's daily life,laboring life and Uygur language.He paints a picture which is full of Uygur folklore culture life.The folk writing gives Wang a certain charm and presents a profound cultural deposits and shows great aesthetic values in his novel.The conclusion points out the significance of the novel Here Is the Scenery in Wang's writing life.It is Wang's first important literature achievement of his 16 years of Xinjiang life.It laid a solid foundation for his subsequent novel series “In Yili”,and is also a fresh start of his middle age's writing career.Undoubtedly,in the latter part of his life,Wang absorbed nutrients from it,and his writing is profoundly influenced by it.
