Among many language forms of flower and bird painting,freehand brushwork is the most important trend of Chinese paintings of the 20th century as well as the most glorious chapter.Wu Changshuo' s freehand flower and bird paintings,which are full of epigraphy elements,are extremely unique and tensile.The interaction between the production mechanism of the painting style and the interaction between calligraphy and seals has great influence on the freehand brushwork of flowers and birds since the 20th century.His paintings are rooted in tradition,erudite and versatile,and they have boldly expanded and innovated the art form.Great achievements in flower and bird paintings have brought Chinese painting to a new level.Qi Baishi,Pan Tianshou,Li Kuchan,Yu Xining and many others had been affected.Tracing the roots and chasing the sources,the study of them can not only help me understand the basic laws of Chinese painting from the inside to create,innovate,and create,but also gain insights into how individuals can explore new paths from traditional inheritance and epoch induction.During the three-year study as a graduate student,I studied Wu Changshuo' s calligraphy and painting and did my own creating.Through an analysis of Wu Changshuo' s freehand brushwork and painting style,I had a profound experience and gradually found a creative idea that was more applicable to me.Constantly deepen the understanding,apply to the creation practice,gradually try to form their own style of painting language and learn the traditional brushwork spirit of the painting to digest,absorb and use,and finally create personalized works.It can be said that the study of the epigraphy elements in Wu Changshuo' s flower and bird paintings provided valuable experience for my flower and bird painting creation and broadened the road for better expressing my feelings and emotions.
