With the rapid growth of international communications and exchanges,interpretation is becoming a focused communication skills in modern times.China and Japan are geopolitically connected with each other and already experienced a 2,000 years’ fusion.Interpretation,in recent years,is in even further urgent need as the more tightly developed Sino-Japanese mutual relationship,building the major “bridge and bond” in promoting these two different cultures,therefore,a greater demand is in progressing as can be expected.Nowadays,interpreting courses are widely popular in colleges and universities,so it is urgent to provide learners with the corresponding interpretation materials.The teaching material of interpreting is an important part of the construction of the subject of interpreting,and it is an important carrier of deepening the reform of interpreting teaching,improving the quality and efficiency of interpreting teaching,reflecting the reform results of interpreting teaching and training the interpreters.At the same time,interpreting teaching materials is also an important tool for interpreting,which is an important factor to embody the educational thought of interpreting and to realize the goal of interpreting education.Therefore,the function of interpreting textbooks should not be neglected.At present,interpretation materials are emerging numerously,but the quality is uneven.The ideal teaching material must have three main elements: the achievement of the goal of education is good;the efficiency is high;with high satisfaction rate from both teachers and students sides.This shows that the evaluation of teaching materials not only needs to investigate whether the teaching material has achieved the educational goal,but also the efficiency of the goal achievement,and whether the teachers and students can get satisfaction through teaching and learning.On the basis of contrastive analysis of Chinese and Japanese interpreting textbooks,this paper explores the advantages and disadvantages of the two countries,and makes it possible to understand the present situation of interpreting textbooks at home and abroad,and to deepen the reform thinking of interpreting teaching materials and enlightening interpreting courses.So it is necessary to compare and analyze the teaching materials between China and Japan.Based on the evaluation criteria of teaching materials and the contrastive analysis of Japanese interpreting textbooks,this paper finds that the advantages of the domestic interpreting textbooks are as follows: most of them can take into account the cultivation of intellectual and non-intelligence factors,reflect the research results of contemporary interpreting theory,comprehensive interpretation skills,covering many fields,and a large number In the ointment;but the target groups for most of the teaching materials are too broad,lack of terminology and the repetition of the expression of practice,the sense of cooperative learning is weak,not very good to guide the learners to think deeply or stimulate the learner’s creativity and imagination.In conclusion,we shall recommend some points to the future textbook compilations: enhance the input of the introduction-level textbook;bring in constructivism methodology;define the applicable target groups and differ the undergraduate and postgraduate textbooks;reconsiderations in language terms and expressions methods.
