China produces tea and tea has a long history in China. The academic circles believe that the teahouse was first formed in the Tang Dynasty as a public place for public commercial tea drinking. The tea house in the Song Dynasty changed from a single operation of tea to an entertainment project, and consciously increased its service content to attract different types of tea guests. The teahouses of the Yuan Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty mainly enhanced the functions of entertainment culture and introduced the Yuan Zaju and Ming novels of the time. The teahouses of the Qing Dynasty were unprecedented in terms of both the scale of development and the diversity of management methods.During the period of the Republic of China,as a peak stage of teahouse development in Chinese history,it has a great relationship with the socio-political,economic,and cultural background in which it is located. The teahouses of the Republic of China have shown unique characteristics on the basis of the continuation of historical development. They are not only reflected in the large number of teahouses, their widespread distribution and diversification of types of teahouses, but also the diversification of business activities, such as tea drinking by the public in teahouses. At the same time as entertainment,it also enjoys a platform for seeking employment opportunities, conducting business transactions, and handling disputes through information exchange channels. This article analyzes the above-mentioned business activities of the Tea House of the Republic of China from the perspective of economics, and finds that various activities that take place in the teahouse are based on the consumption of tea.At the same time, they have external influences. For example, the exchange of information promotes other businesses.Activities and gambling have created a bad social atmosphere, which constitutes the externality of teahouse consumption. In order to maintain social security, the government has issued regulations on teahouses. The study of these contents can better analyze the prosperous causes of teahouses in the Republic of China and their relations with the government, and have practical significance for inheriting and developing Chinese traditional culture.
