Rachmaninoff Music Characteristics And Performance Handling For Two Piano Works "Tarantella"

Rachmaninoff is a very important music genius in the 20 th century.He is not only a pianist but also a composer.His compositions strictly follow traditional writing techniques,yet are deeply rooted from Russian national music.Many of his works have an epic style.He was productive in his composition.In the early days of his creation,he composed the double piano works The First Suite and The Second Series.The latter was superior to the former in its musical melody and technical skills.The Talantaila I chose is the fourth of The Second Series.This piece is rich in thoughts and fast in speed.It takes a long time to practice and cooperation between the two pianists.As it was my concert repertoire,I have a deep understanding of his double piano work Talantaila.The first part of this paper focuses on his personal life and the composition background of his double piano work Talantaila.The work was composed after he returned from his vacation in Italy,so Italian music elements can be found in the music.The second part focuses on the main features of this work in musical composition,including the melody characteristics,the use of continuous sounds,and the texture characteristics of octaves.Although Lach lived in the era when a variety of music schools co-existed,he was inclined to the traditional way of composition,and his writing technique is unique.In this piece of music,the melody is mainly based on the traditional second degree,and in many cases,melody writing is used in a progressive manner;The continuous sound of the two pianos complementary to each other can clarify the musical function,which is also one of the traditional techniques in Lach's music creation;The colorful octaves play an important role.The third part is a detailed analysis of the performance of this work,including the processing of its chords,the comparative processing of strength,and the processing of the overall structure of the music.It lists out several ways of dealing with chords and strength,as well as the display of the overall structure of the music.It is hoped that through the in-depth analysis and discussion of this work,we can have a better command of this work.
