Judgment of learning(JOL)is a method of metamemory monitoring,which refers to the metamemory judgment of the participants' recalling the possibility on the recent study materials in the following tests(Nelson & Narens,1990),and it is of great importance for successful learning and memorizing.In the field of emotional identification,the accuracy of meta-memory monitoring can improve the accuracy of tasks,reduce errors,and improve learning efficiency in a dynamic social environment(Nelson & Narens,1990).Therefore,it is necessary to explore the monitoring of metamemory.The study wants to separate emotions valence and arousal,explore whether the valence and arousal can affect metamemory and how it affects metamemory,in order to make a further and more systematic study on the effects of emotions on learning as well as further study the internal mechanism of emotional stimuli' effect on judgment of learning.The study use the emotional face images as experimental materials,in which experiment 1 was designed with single-factor experiment to keep arousal level constant so as to explore the effect of different valence on judgment of learning and its' accuracy.Experiment 2 explores the effect of different presentation modes of valence and arousal on judgment of learning and its' accuracy.Experiment 2a use 2(valence: positive,negative)x 2(arousal: high,low)to be tested in the experiment design,and different valence level were presented between blocks,and different arousal level in blocks;Experiment 2b(valence: positive and negative)x 2(arousal: high and low)was designed in the experiment,and the different valence and arousal levels were presented in blocks.The results of experimental 1 show that at constant awakening,learning judgment of different valence of emotional faces and its accuracy differ significantly,which indicates that emotions and neutral,face learning judgment is based on the differences between valence level.The results of experiment 2 show that when different valence level were presented between blocks,and different arousal level in blocks,the valence influence on learning judgment disappeared,which means that other types of materials are needed to make comparisons.In terms of accuracy of learning judgment,the primary effect of valence is significant,the primary effect of arousal is insignificant,and the interaction between valence and arousal is significant.In experiment 2b,when operating between blocks with different valence and arousal on learning judgment does not need to be compared with other types of materials,the main effects of valence on learning judgment accuracy were significant,that of arousal was not significant,and that of valence and arousal interaction were not significant.The results suggest that emotional face valence and arousal affect learning and judgment differently.The valence of emotional faces has an impact on learning and judgment,and other types of emotional stimuli are needed to make comparisons.However,the effects of arousal on learning judgment do not need to be compared with other types of emotional stimuli.The effects of valence on the accuracy of learning judgment is regulated by arousal to some extent.
