From a narrow sense,television situation comedy is a form of art in which comedy art is given to a specific situational space under the expression of a lens language,and then broadcasted through a television carrier.In a broad sense,television situation comedy is a humorous expression of the self-consciousness of the people of the times.It is a spiritual product of the civilization of the era and it evokes the various forms of life and enriches the social landscape.In the past 25 years,the development of television situation comedy in Mainland China has also been a process of aesthetic exploration by Chinese TV folks.From 1993,when Yingda directed China's first television sitcom “I love my family”,people's aesthetic awareness of television situation gradually expanded with life experience and aesthetic experience,and the aesthetic characteristics of television situation were carved on a different era branding.Along the way,the aesthetic qualities of television situation have been continuously updated at different times,and they have also met different challenges.In order to present a clearer course of development for the future of Chinese television situation,this thesis will explore the aesthetic characteristics of Chinese television situation.The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of Chinese television situation comedy through M.H.Abrams' four major elements of literary and artistic aesthetic criticism.They are “Text”,“Author”,“Audience” and “Universe”.In the main content,this thesis is divided into four parts.In the first part,the paper combed the development context of television situation comedy,then it discussed the historical origin of Chinese television situation comedy as an imported product,and it also defined the professional concept of situation comedy in detail.In the second part,this thesis started from the artist's creative level.It analyzed the evolution of Chinese television situation comedy in art what included narrative creation and style creation.From this we can clearly capture the different creative techniques created by different artists in different eras.In the third part,the thesis standed in the perspective of the recipient and discussed the role of the recipient's awareness and psychology will change with the environment.In the last part,the thesis went up to the universe level and explored the aestheticconnotation of Chinese television situation comedy.Aesthetic connotation is not only dominated by the objective world,but also influenced by the subjective world.So the aesthetic imagery has been produced by the means of "merging feeling with scenery".In summary,Chinese television situation comedy dispels the most authentic and sensual beauty in such an imagery world.
