This is a translation report on the book named Teaching in Action: Case Studies from Second Language Classrooms,which is edited by Dr.Jack C.Richards.This book is a collection of 76 case studies and each case study describes the context in which the teacher was working,the problem that occurred and how the teacher responded to the problem.Part 7 ?Teaching Writing? of the book is chosen for the translation.This book lists plenty of case studies on how language teachers deal with issues in their teaching,which will be a great help for teacher educators and these examples can be used to explore and better understand how teachers work to reflect on strategies that may work in different situations,as well as to consider alternative modes of thought and action.This translation report is based on Skopos Theory as theoretical fundamental.In order to convey the original meaning faithfully and make the translation conform to Chinese usages,the translator explains the difficulties and corresponding solutions during the process of this translation combining transformation method,restructuring sentence structure,division translation strategy.The translation report is divided into four parts.The first part describes the translation task,including the background and the significance of the task.The second part describes the translation process,including preparations,problems and difficulties in translation,translation theories and strategies.The third part elaborates more specific examples to illustrate how the translator adopts various translation techniques to cope with the difficulties during the process of translating under the guidance of the Skopos Theory.The last part sums up the problems which the translator haven't solved and then gives the relevant implications.
