This thesis focuses on studying the English-Chinese translation of the first chapter of Teaching in Action---Case Studies from Second Language Classrooms,a book written by an America scholar,named Jack C.Richards.This book is a collection of short case studies that describe how teachers respond to problems they encounter in their teaching and also some commentary by several teacher educators.These short cases' providers are from different parts of the world,and teachers can learn many useful teaching skills and experiences from it.This translation task includes four parts.The first part is a brief introduction to Teaching in Action: Case Studies from Second Language Classrooms.The second part is my preparation for this translation task.In the third part,the translator will mainly talk about the translation strategies and skills involved in this translation task.The fourth part elaborates the process of dealing with difficulties of translation and the solutions the translator applied to the task.Finally,there are some unsolved problems and some lessons throughout the whole translation task. |
