Minority culture is an inseparable part of Chinese culture,and minority films are also an indispensable and important type in Chinese films.As a kind of cultural product,it not only shows the unique cultural customs for the audience,but also provides channels for the inheritance of national culture,contributes to the maintenance of national unity,which has important cultural,political and artistic value.Yunnan,as a province with the most kinds of minorities in China,has rich and splendid cultural resources of minorities,which provides excellent material for film shooting.So far,Yunnan minority films have gone through nearly 70 years of creative history,roughly through three important periods: from Love Song Of Reed-pipe Instrument,Border war,DaiMoore,Five golden flowers,Ashima inSeventeen-year "(1949-1966)" to Youth sacrifice,The story of Yunnan inthe new era(1978-2000),also to Norma's Seventeen-year-old Time,Huayao Bride in Shangri-La,Bieji impression,Biluo Snow Moutain in new century(2000-now).In different historical periods,the value orientation of Yunnan minority films is different,that is,the creators' cognitive tendency towards the social function of films is different.This paper tries to explore the value orientation of Yunnan minority films and how films express these values in each period by selecting the typical film texts of three historical periods,intensive reading of the text and combining with the historical background.This paper consists of three chapters.Chapter 1: The value orientation of Yunnan minority films during the "Seventeen-year" period is to strengthen the national identity.Under the value orientation of strengthening the national identity,there are three main themes in creative work: "strengthening the consciousness of frontier defense and national unity","developing the socialist revolution" and "showing the new life of minorities".Chapter 2: Resultingfrom the change of historical background,the value orientation of Yunnan minority films in the new period is not only strengthening the national identitybut also cultural reconsideration.Chapter 3: In the new century,the value orientation of Yunnan minority films continue to extend the strengthening national identity theme in the previous two periods,besides,protection of cultural diversity has become an important value orientation of film creation in this period aswell.
