Study On Jiang Chenying's Historiography Achievement

Jiang Chenying is a famous Chinese litterateur and historian in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.The academic circles have a deep study of his literary achievements,but research on his historiography achievements is rather weak.Therefore the author of this study mainly studies Jiang Chenying's historical works,i.e.Chronicles of Criminal Law of Ming Dynasty,History of Ming Dynasty,Records of Unification of Qing Dynasty and textual research of classical history.This paper explores Jiang Chenying's historiography achievements by means of analyzing his historical works.There are five parts in this paper:First,introduction mainly introduces Jiang Chenying's biography as well as research purpose,research significance of this study and the current research status of this subject in the academic circles.The first part mainly introduces Jiang Chenying's compilation of History of Ming Dynasty,including the compilation progress of History of Ming Dynasty,the compilation of Criminal Law Records of Ming History and various biographies.In addition,Jiang Chenying's manuscripts are compared with Wang Hongxu's manuscripts and book to present the contributions of Jiang Chenying's manuscripts to the completion of History of Ming Dynasty.In the second part,the paper mainly introduces the articles in Jiang Chenying's Chronicles of Records of Unification of Qing Dynasty,and discusses Jiang Chenying's thoughts and contributions on border defense.The third part mainly introduces Jiang Chenying's historical textual research,evaluation and thoughts.Specifically,based on the Notes of Zhan Yuan and the Collection of Zhan Yuan,The author explores Jiang Chenying's research on Sanli,historiography evaluation and thoughts embodied therein.Finally,the conclusion presents the author's summary of Jiang Chenying's historiography achievements.
