Haruki Murakami's Short Story Study-Center On "Men Without Women"

Haruki Murakami is one of the most widely influential writers in contemporary Japanese society.From “Hear the Wind Sing" to "Killing Commendatory," he wrote 14 novels,dozens of short stories,and many essays,travel notes.At the same time,he also translates foreign literacies.He is a hard worker in the field of literature.His novels such as "Norwegian wood","Hardboiled Wonderland and The End of The World","1Q84" were known by Japanese and all over the world,and caused the scholars in many countries to analysis his literary creation.Although Haruki Murakami is famous for his novels,the short stories in Murakami's literary creation cannot be ignored.When Murakami completed a novel in one or two years,he will launch a collection of short stories,and now he has 10 collections of short stories.Such as "Firefly” “Twist windup bird and Tuesday's women",a number of short story extended into novels like "Norwegian Wood”,and "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle”.Therefore the quantity and quality of short stories are not lost in his novels.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is introduction,in the first part the author explained the reason and meaning to choose the writer Haruki Murakami and his short stories "Men without Women" as the research subject.The reason is that Haruki Murakami is a Japanese writer,who has high-profile and influential in the world and "Men without Women" is his latest creation of short stories,so I choose this as the research content.I organized the scholars which from China and Japan written by FuChangLing,Simizu Ryoten Through reading and analyzing relevant literature,summarizing the main contents of these literatures and combing the main views and viewpoints of Chinese and Japanese scholars.The second part of this paper is the first chapter.It is the introduction of a more specific Murakami's own background and short novel creation path and the link between short and long novels.On the basis of village in the preface of the Japanese version "Men without Women",introduced the short story "Men without Women" the creation background,as well as the stories completed order.The second chapter and the third chapter is the third part of the thesis,mainly the six short stories hero of "Men without Women”,according to the different narrative perspective of Murakami,through the language of the characters,psychological activity and behavior analysis of the characters in Haruki Murakami short fiction image,at the same time combined with novel content and theme of the article in the symbolic significance like cats,snakes,ice moon,to explore various short story characters' convergence.Finally the fourth part is the fourth chapter,the paper analyzed the represent "Men without Women" to find focusing narrative perspective in his short stories and show his gender perspective.A more extreme way to describe women's infidelity to show that women are as free as men in terms of "sex",suggesting that cheating is not just "power" for men.At the same time,this theme reflects the loneliness of contemporary Japanese and the spiritual world of seeking independence.
