Research On Short Story Film Creation

Short story is the main form of early films.The formation and development of film cannot be separated from the exploration of short film creation.With the continuous evolution of film technology,film has become a synonym for long story,while short story has become an art form with its own unique expression and aesthetic characteristics,and it has the characteristics of short production cycle,small shooting investment,high degree of freedom of creation,especially suitable for the mobile Internet era audience demand and mode of transmission.Therefore,for the current media environment,the study of short film creation is very necessary.This article selects excellent award winning videos in recent years for paper analysis.Meanwhile,based on author's creative practice,this paper tries to explore the general law of short story creation from special to universal.This thesis will expound from three aspects,characterization,narrative style and scene construction.The characters in the short film tend to be flat characters with a single direction,narrative style uses concise event interception,while the scenes are dominated by independent space scenes.The characterization of short story shows two tendencies of single and symbolization of characters.For the former,the limitation of the main characters number and the shaping of character personage are the main methods.For the latter,dissimilation of words-deeds and concentration of personality are the two main ways to achieve the symbolization of characters.Simplification is the main feature of short story narrative,while fragmentation and anti-plot are two forms of expression conciseness.Short story narrative cannot be in accordance with the traditional film narrative,and less use of causal linear structure for plot arrangement.Its narrative features include the center digestion,hyperbole and deduction,collage of consciousness,distortion and remodeling of time,and the broken and absurd connection.The independent space of the short story has two important characteristics: the relative independence of time,and space-time relative transformation.The limitation of the short film in time leads to the uniqueness and simplicity of its scene space.The space in the short story contains the transmission of changing character behaviors and story connotations,which can be seen as a sublimation of the scene.
