The Absurdity In Wes Anderson's Films

The aesthetics of absurdity comes into being in the continuous cognition of the world.The theory emphasizes the contradiction between the finite and the infinity of nature.The world is no longer only beauty or ugliness,comedy or tragedy,but the intermediary of absurdity.Human will eventually go to death,which means that life will always be accompanied by absurdity.And the human studies of the world will eventually melt into the natural irrationality.But,as Camus said,it is the first step to realize absurdity.Camus started from absurd in his philosophy,with revolt as the core.Only the rebellion against absurdity is the right choice for mankind to deal with absurdity.As one of the most distinct directors of personal style,Wes Anderson is also favored by audiences.While winning international awards such as Oscar and Golden Globe Award,the box office is also rising.The unique style of Wes Anderson's middle and late development has attracted much attention,but the story style which is mixed with grief and joy is more of the constant personal characteristics.The study of Wes Anderson in the domestic academia is more about the analysis of its composition,color,or theme in film studies,Most of the studies are discussed the style of Wes Anderson films based on the direction of "joy".Only few studies are analyzed the internal meanings based on aesthetic theory.This paper will analyze the content level,the narrative technique and the absurdity in Wes Anderson?s film through the intermediary of sadness and joy: absurdity.This article is divided into four parts except the introduction chapter.The second chapter begins with the introduction of the basic development of the absurd aesthetics,and analyzes the causes of the absurd style of Wes Anderson's film.The third chapter analyzes the theme of Wes Anderson's films based on the existentialist theory and analyses the absurdity of the character based on Camus' s theory of absurdity.The fourth chapter analyses the absurdity of the narrative techniques in the film on the basis of the absurdity of his film content.The fifth chapter is the absurdity analysis of Wes Anderson's films from the further embodiment of absurdity,the weakening of his movie absurdity and audiovisual combinationas as supplement.
