There are four abilities in learning English,one of them is writing skill.Developing students' English writing skill is the most important objective in junior middle school English teaching.Also,in all kinds of English exams,writing plays an important part.Because writing not only can reflect students' ability but also can promote students master the knowledge effectively.The New English Curriculum Standards puts forward a clear demand on writing ability.But in fact,a lot of students are weak at this skill,especially in the rural junior middle school.Therefore,it is necessary to find out a method to resolve this difficulty.Recitation plays an important role in the study of many subjects,especially in junior middle school's English teaching.It is a real input and an effective way to improve learners' language ability.These years,many scholars have done a lot of experiments on the effects of recitation in language teaching and learning,this study will be carried out on the application of recitation in the teaching of English writing in rural junior school.This study analyzes the writing teaching and the writing situation of students in junior middle school.1.Recitation can help rural junior students to increase vocabularies.2.Recitation can help rural junior students to understand and use grammar rules correctly.3.Recitation can help rural junior students improve their English writing level.This study attempts to explore the recitation can improve junior school students' English writing or can't improve their writing level.The subjects in the study are 81 students from Class 2 and Class 8,Grade 8,Anning Number Two Middle School,Kunming,Yunnan Province.Class 8 is experimental class,there are 41 students.Class 2 is control class,there are 40 students.Experimental class adopted the recitation input method and the teacher asks students to write a composition every week.What's more,the students have to recite a sample essay is selected by teacher.The teacher also must make timely corrections and feedback on the students' compositions,and strengthen the examination of students' recitation.But the control class adopted the usual teaching method.Before the end of the experiment,in order to survey the results of the research,two writing tests were held in two classes.T-test by SPSS was used to analyze the data scientifically.Meanwhile,in order to learn better the attitudes of English writing and whether the recitation can promote the writing or not in rural junior middle school,the author used questionnaires in experimental class before and after teaching experiment.Also,in the experimental class,10 students took part in an interview to know the students' attitudes towards recitation and the affect of recitation input teaching method.Through the experiment,it shows that recitation has a great influence on the students' English writing level of rural junior middle school.the average score of students in control class is obviously lower than that of experimental class after the recitation.The analysis post-test between two classes reveals that the students in experimental class do more better in phrase,connective words and grammar using than students in control class.At the same time,the result of interview shows that most students hold a positive attitude toward recitation and they think that the recitation method is useful to learn English.However,it is still has shortcomings,because recitation is a time—consuming and laborious activity,so the deficiencies need to be studied and improved in the future.
