Recitation strategy has always been one of the most frequently used strategies in language teaching.It also plays an important role in the process of learning languages.The effectiveness has also been affirmed by many successful learners and teaching researchers.Some researchers think recitation strategy is old and rigid.We cannot deny that recitation strategy,which is an extremely subtle sub-strategy of learning strategies,has a positive impact on all aspects of English learning.Especially as a way of language input,recitation strategy plays an undoubtedly important role in language output.Writing is more important in China's educational system than speaking in the way of language output.Therefore,the author chooses recitation strategy and English writing ability as the main research contents to conduct this experimental study which is based on the input and output hypothesis of language,production-oriented approach and the teaching method of promoting writing by reading.In order to explore how recitation strategy affects writing ability,the author chooses action research method to conduct case study whose objects were only one person.The object of study is a fourth-year junior high school student in a non-key junior middle school in Harbin.Through the analysis of the learning situation of the research object,the curriculum standards of the junior middle school students and the requirements of the middle school entrance examination,the author chooses three parts of writing ability to explore the accuracy of lexical and grammatical structure,coherence of the article and the integrity of the content of the article.This action research will last three months,including three rounds of research,each of which lasts four teaching weeks,and includes four steps: problem analysis,recitation strategy training,writing and interviews.The author strives to improve the relevant issues after each round of research.Finally,the research comes conclusions through observation,interview and analysis of several compositions.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Emphasizing correct lexical grammar in the use of recitation strategies and consolidating exercises repeatedly can significantly improve the accuracy of lexical grammar structure in writing ability.(2)Writing problems did not solved completely.There are two aspects in writing problems:linguistic level and content level.Due to various subjective and objective factors,this study mainly focuses on the linguistic level,and will gradually supplement the relevant research at the content level in the future.(3)Emphasizing the overall structure of the text and memorizing it in segments during the use of recitation strategies is conducive to improving the integrity of the content in writing.However,the time of this stage is relatively short,there is a need for follow-up experiments to compare and analyze the degree of variation of the results.There are still some shortcomings in this study,which needs follow-up studies to supplement:(1)Research object was a single person and the reference for future research will be limited.(2)The pertinence of composition analysis tools is not strong enough.Artificial analysis may still have subjective factors,and the online correction system does not aim at the junior high school students.(3)Language learning needs long-term persistence to be effective.Due to various subjective and objective factors,the time schedule of this study is slightly hasty.This study should be further improved in future researches and studies.
