Black Humor is one kind of manifestations of social issues,and to a great extent,it has reached the bottom line of traditional aesthetic ideas.By taking use of the fantastic camera language and distinct narrative structure,Guy Ritchie creatively applies the experience and technique used in photographing MTV(Music Television Video),into the shooting of the distinguished black humor movie Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.Guy Ritchie is then well characterized for his exceedingly unique personal style.By analyzing the black humor movie Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,this dissertation,accompanied by the writer's graduation film Millions to Fate,will look into Guy Ritchie's style of production from the following four parts.In the first part of introduction,the writer firstly makes a simple statement on the concept of black humor and the background of the gradual establishment of Guy Ritchie's style.Under such circumstance,the significance of this research is unveiled.Besides,on the basis of present research situation and social background,the writer also points out the creativity of this project.Meanwhile,the writer also makes a brief introduction of her own graduation work for the further analysis in the latter part.The main point of the second part focuses on Guy Ritchie's features of play which generally starts from the character design and the theme of story.And this part consists of three important points: analyzing the social background where characters and story itself are set,exploring the common practice of Guy Ritchie's production ofplay and combining Millions to Fate with the research.The third one is designed for the purpose of analyzing Guy Ritchie's uniqueness of narration.For example,the representation of opening of the groups of characters,the arrangement of effects proceeding causes,the design of many co-existing clues.In this process,the work Millions to Fate will also be used for comparison.The last part is dedicated to exploring Guy Ritchie's audio and visual talents in two ways.On one hand,the writer combines her work with Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels;on the other hand,the writer shows the ingenious design of scene,the application of functional prop and the fast-paced film editing like MTV,all of which exist in Guy Ritchie's productions.After making a further understanding of these skills,the writer takes a full advantage of those creative and helpful strategies when she makes Millions to Fate.
