The genre paintings are paintings drawn from people's daily life and social customs.Chinese genre paintings have a long history,and their artistic value reached the peak in the Song Dynasty.The "genre painting" not only showed the aesthetic pursuit of the public at that time,but also reappeared the style at that time to some extent.Obviously,the aesthetic trends and cultural connotations of “genre painting” in each era will be inherited and developed along with the changes of the times,and will burst out in the light of their own time.This article attempts to use the spatial layout in the most representative works of Song dynasty painting as an entry point.To sort out the inheritance and change of the “genre painting”from the pre-Qin to the Ming and Qing Dynasties as well as the shape and arrangement of the figure in the contemporary Zhe school figures,focusing on the study of the spatial layout of the Song dynasty paintings,combining the spatial arrangement of characters,environment,animals,and props.The painting language and its cultural connotation analyze the mystery of the composition in the image,summarizing the styling arrangement in the genre painting as the basic space composition of the freehand figure painting creation.
