Specific language impairment(SLI)refers to a child who grows in a normal environment, has normal intelligence and hearing, does not have neurological or verbal mechanisms, does not have sensory deficits, mental retardation, but has slow or abnormal language development. The novel word learning difficulty is one of the main problems in the SLI children's vocabulary learning, which severely limits the subsequent language development and mental improvement of the SLI.However,at present, there are few researches on SLI-based learning of novel words. The first issue studied in this study is the characteristics of SLI children's novel word naming learning and the simple and effective rehabilitation training in order to improvement of novel word naming learning. The second question is the characteristics of phonological short-term memory of SLI and the effects of word-likeness and length of syllables on phonological short-term memory. The third problem is the correlation between the naming of novel words, phonological short-term memory and language ability. The contribution rate of the naming of novel words, phonological short-term memory to language ability. The main contents and results of this study are as follows:1.Impacts of vocal rehearsal and retention duration on novel word naming of SLIThe present study uses a three-factor mixed experiment design: 3(child type: SLI group, typically developing age-matched group,a typically developing younger group)ื 2(vocal rehearsal: with, without vocal rehearsal)ื 2(retention duration: 10 seconds,5 minutes)to investigate impact of vocal rehearsal and retention duration on novel word naming of the three groups.15 subjects for each group. The result shows that the main effects of the vocal rehearsal is extremely significant(p=0.000<0.01),the main effects of the retention duration is extremely significant(p=0.000<0.01),and the main effects of the children type is significant(p=0.033<0.05).The interaction effect between the retention duration ื the child type is significant(p=0.032<0.05),the interaction effect of vocal rehearsal ืthe retention duration is extremely significant(p=0.000<0.01),and other interaction effects are not significant. The results show that the vocal rehearsal strategy can significantly improve the SLI's novel word naming learning and can be used as simple and effective training method in the SLI language rehabilitation.2.Effects of word-likeness and length of syllables on phonological short-term memory of SLIThe present study uses a three-factor mixed experiment design: 3(child type: SLI group,a typically developing age-matched group,a typically developing younger group)ื 2(word-likeness: high word-likeness non-words,low word-likeness non-words)ื3(syllable length: two-syllable,three-syllable,four-syllable)to investigate effects of word-likeness and length of syllables on phonological short-term memory of the three groups.15 subjects for each group. The result shows that the main effects of the children type is extremely significant(p=0.000<0.01),the main effects of the word-likeness is not significantly(p=0.450>0.05),the main effects of the syllable length is not significant(p=0.098>0.05).The interaction effect between the child type ื word-likeness interaction is marginal significant(p=0.052=0.05),and other interaction effects are not significant. The results showed that SLI had significantly lower repetition ability than typically children for non-words with different levels of word-likeness and syllables, and there were phonological short-term memory defects.3.The relationship between novel word naming learning and phonological shortterm memory and language ability of SLIThrough the analysis of the correlation between novel word naming learning and phonological short-term memory and language ability(PPVT-R),it is found that there is a significant positive correlation between language ability and novel word naming learning and phonological short-term memory(r=0.458-0.767,p<0.01),the regression analysis between novel word naming learning and phonological short-term memory and language ability found that the novel word naming learning and phonological short-term memory have a significant contribution to SLI children's language ability, and the contribution rate is as high as 0.615.
