| The "ensemble finale" consists of a number of re-constructions that constitute a huge continuation of final scene,which usually appears in the end of some scenes in Italian comic opera.During ensemble finale,all characters come back to stage successively and participate in the re-enactment through performing duet,trio and quintet.With the increase of theatrical figures,the change and development of dramatic conflict,there emerges new themes,new styles and new rhythms in music,which promotes drama to reach a climax.The final scene in the second act of Mozart’s“Les Figaro’s Wedding” and in the first act of Rossini’s “The Seville Barber” is the classic example of ensemble finale of Italian comic opera.Taking these two scenes as research objects,this paper not only carefully analyzes opera script and music perspective,but also comprehensively summarizes construction method and artistic features of ensemble finale.There are four chapters in this thesis,divided into three parts.The first part consists of two chapters,one is the introduction,and the other one is the chapter two,which combs the related theories of opera genre and re-enactment.The second part is chapter three and chapter four,which deals with the drama-music structure and music expression skills of ensemble finale.The third part is the conclusion,on the basis of the first two chapters,further refining and summarizing artistic value of ensemble finale and the relationship between music and drama structure. |
