Social Change And Economic Rationality: Dingfeng Sauce Industry During The Social Economy Of Pinghu Between The Late Qing Dynasty And The Early Years Of The Republic Of China

At present,the defect of modern Chinese enterprise history is that it fails to observe the vicissitudes of enterprises in specific historical environments and business habits.Compared with the research of business history,the study of traditional business history in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China is more lacking,because of lack of relevant information.This paper through analysis and interpretation of modern archives of the Pinghu Dingfeng Sauce Industry,especially the account book of historical materials,trying to get into the regional economy to analyze.On the one hand exploring the change of regional society and economy impacted on Dingfeng Sauce Industry,on the other hand,analysing Dingfeng Sauce Industry how to understanded area of social economy and how to adjust itself in the regional economy.This paper is divided into four parts to discuss Dingfeng Sauce Industry during the social economy of Pinghu between the late Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Republic of China.The first part through synthetical consideration about "earning","expenditure"," asset" and "liabilities" intoduces the operating conditions of Dingfeng Sauce Industry between the late Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Republic of China.This part is the basis of the analysis,the following interpretation of Dingfeng Sauce Industry based on the analysis of this part.The second part mainly from the three aspects of tax changes,changes in prices and government action role analyzes the impact of social and economic changes acting on Dingfeng Sauce Industry.The third part mainly from the location and regional scale efficiency,changes of copper cash and silver exchange rate,social responsibility and fixed interest syste in family owned enterprises examines how the Dingfeng Sauce Industry understanded regional society and economy.In the last part,using the example of accounting profit and dividend distribution as well as the creation of distillery study evolution of Dingfeng Sauce Industry of management system and business strategy during the regional society and economy,illustrating the Dingfeng Sauce Industry adjusting itself during the regional society and economy.
