Research On Various Funeral Ceremonies Of Yi In WeiNing In GuiZhou

WeiNing,as a multinational Settlement,is inhabited mainly by Yi,Hui and Miao.And in history,it has once been a significant region where WuSa Yi lived.Being an important part of traditional beliefs of Yi,the funeral ceremonies of Yi in WeiNing has developed in to three types with the development of economic and culture-which respectively based on their tradition,Taoism and Christianity.By analyzing the causes and further development of this diversified situation,the thesis has discussed how that we can inherit the tradition and carry it forward.The thesis has five parts,including the Introduction and Conclusion.The first chapter has mainly researched the survival field and the funeral ceremonies of Yi in WeiNing.It has provided an overview of the survival background of Yi in WeiNing which counts in geography,production,history and culture so that we will have a better answer to how the diversified situation comes.The second part are investigation and comparison of the three types of funeral ceremonies mentioned in part one.According to the documentation and field investigation,we have analyzed them through the structure,process,distribution and characteristic to find out the causes of such condition and also to know the similarities and differences between them three.The third part is prospect and thinking.Summarizing the research,we believe that,as a result of crash and acculturation of these three kinds of cultures,funeral ceremonies of Yi in WeiNing turns out various.In some respects,it dose have affected people's life and the relationships between them.However,because of ties of blood and ethnic,the keynote of the social order keeps harmonious and stable.Meanwhile,the ideas of morality and cultivation appear in the funeral ceremonies are definitely a most important part of traditions of the Yi nationality.The paper believes that,although,in WeiNing,there are several kinds of funeral ceremonies of Yi,the traditional one still bears the missions of protecting the ethical culture and ensuring the cohesion and stability of Yi ethnic group.
