The four monks in the early qing dynasty had an important position and painting value in the history of Chinese painting,and they sought to form a unique painting style with different artistic aesthetic pursuit.The literature and art of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties developed under the emotional tone of sentimentality and indignation,and the painting style of the four monks in the early Qing Dynasty had its own characteristics.But on the whole,the paintings of Hongren,Shitao,and Bada were filled with different degrees of gloomy emotion,and it was very special in the specific social and cultural background at that time that the paintings of Kuncan were filled with warm and vigorous feelings.From this point on,through the comparative study of the four monks,found:The understanding of disability and rigidity comes from the specific concept of "four monks in the early Qing Dynasty".This view always emphasizes the similarities between the four monks,while Kuncan is very different from the three others.Though he has adherents of identity,but KunCan in claustral thoroughly after beyond the restriction of social secular emotion,there is a purely religious beliefs and strong religious emotion buddhist monk.At the same time,his artistic sensibility was guided by religious sentiment,and he was completely immersed in the great love of all living beings,transcend the secular.KunCan's thought of transcend the secula is the of humanity and nature,warm this world vigorously in paintingis the expression of the thought of transcend the secula.KunCan painting warm thriving land in the world is the expression of the idea of "love",which is the important factor in the formation of his painting style and features,and has valuable social significance and painting value in the social culture of that time.Because of the lack of the materials excavated by academic circles and legacy of Kuncan,the text firstly elaborated the social culture of the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty social and political literature which reflected in the intensification of social and political contradictions and that of social ideological and cultural contradictions,and analyzed the impact of this kind of background on Kuncan which manifested in the formation of the bereaved people,monk and the painter through comparring the four monks.At the same time,it expounds the characteristics of literary and artistic thoughts and their influence on the style and features of Kuncan's painting.Through the comparison of the four monks,they are permeated with different degrees of melancholy feelings in the paintings of Hongren,Shitao and Bada.KunCan,unlike them,have completely beyond the secular and personal desires,has the broad and the thought of transcend the secula the emotion.Secondly elaborated modern value of KunCan painting painting art history don't know the full source:Monk paintings in the art lies in four emotions are influenced by "monk",but the other three people more or less show worldly emotions,standing in the point of view,KunCan isspecial.KunCan though life is rough,eccentricity,illness,but rarely seen in the painting,he completely beyond the secular and personal desires,as a devout buddhists in unconsciously reflects the buddhist religion in great love,there are certain the thought of transcend the secula the emotion.This paper from the three aspects of preface and postscript,artic executions and composition processing,and finally discusses the artistic value of Kuncan's landscape painting.
