2012 is a year when Chinese literature has blossomed in the international literary arena.Mo Yan won the Nobel prize in literature.He is the first Chinese writer to win the Nobel prize for literature.This is not only the personal honor of Mo Yan,but also the brilliant achievement of the Chinese language and literature in the international literary world.This article takes Sandalwood Death as the research object,uses narrative theory to analyze the writing skills of novels,and explores Mo Yan's narrative art in this work.In the introduction part,the sources,current research situation,research ideas and research methods of the thesis are dealt with.There are three chapters in the main body.The narrative skills in Sandalwood Death are analyzed from three aspects: narrative perspective,narrative voice and narrative time.From the part of narrative perspective,this part mainly analyzes the change of narrative perspective in Sandalwood Death.In Feng Tou Bu and Bao Wei Bu,Mo Yan used implicit and explicit narrator and multiple narrative perspective,he can present he same thing in different perspectives and get different narrative effects.In Zhu Du Bu,Mo Yan through the zero focus omnipotence to make the narrator know everything and provide a lot of information for readers.The perspective of narrative voice,the author analyses the characters' narration,“Mao voice”and “two diffident me”.In Sandalwood Death,Mo Yan chose through free direct speech this paraphrased language to convey of discourse,which can keep on the maximum character of subjectivity.The spoken language is helpful to highlight characters of agrestic breath.In the speech,the sound of the “Mao cavity”in the Shandong drama,enhanced Mo's intention to return to the traditional narrative effect.The treatment of the narration in the novel and experience subject,Mo Yan to eliminate “two different me”in novel that narrative discourse did not appear big difference.In terms of narrative time,Mo Yan's superb ability to arrange the plots of stories is demonstrated by analyzing the changes between the sequential and the length of time in his works.He used “flashbacks”,“interleave”,“abbreviated”,“extended”narrative to reasonable arrangement of narrative time,make of the novel's narrative rhythm up properly.Finally,in the concluding part,a comprehensive review is made of the whole paper to summarize the narrative techniques that Mo Yan used in Sandalwood Death.
