Research On Chen Duxiu's Cultural Modernization During The New Culture Movement

Chen Duxiu,as the "banner" of the New Culture Movement and the "commander-in-chief" of the May Fourth Movement,made outstanding contributions to the development of modern Chinese politics.However,as Chen Duxiu himself said,“Fortunately,there are hardships and bones,and old scholars are still white”.In essence,Chen Duxiu is still a literary scholar.In the process of modern society development,Chen Duxiu can be said to be a legendary figure who inherits the past and the next,and with the May 4th Movement as a critical point,he inherited the unyielding spirit of the fighter of the democratic revolution and began the “new youth” after the New Culture Movement.The new generation of young people after the May 4th played the role of "pathfinder".In the process of advancing the modernization of Chinese culture,Chen Duxiu turned his attention to Western developed countries,and then introduced the two concepts of“democracy” and “science”,introduced advanced western culture,and relentlessly criticized feudal traditional culture.However,contrary to personal experience and the background of the times,Chen Duxiu was defective in the introduction of Western advanced culture and criticism of
