Study On Female Images In Chinese Time-travel TV Series

“Female image”is one of the most important themes of feminist research in the 1970 s.It is an analysis of the mass media's concentrated expression of gender.Everyone has social gender,social gender originates from social construction,gender standards human's behavior,and determines human's social role and characteristics."women are not born,but molded." Simon Povova's classical quotations in the second sex completely negated the uniqueness of the physiological function of sex.This paper from the perspective of feminism explores the characteristics of the female image in our country,which examines the female image in the Chinese Time-travel TV Series.From the perspective of gender,identity and gender politics,we further discuss the characteristics of women's subjectivity and feminism features in Chinese Time-travel TV Series.First of all,before the study of the female image of Chinese Time-travel TV Series,we can make a detailed understanding of the Time-travel TV Series.Since Chinese academician did not strictly define Time-travel TV Series,this article starts from what is “Time-travel”,and summarizes the basic characteristics and female role.Secondly,using the content analysis of 34 female heroines in Chinese Time-travel TV Series from 2001 to 2018,we create the female image through the appearance and gender schema,discourse status,power control.Combination with the feminist theory,the data in the third chapter is interpreted in depth.Under the gender theory,women have the characteristics of “seeing and being seen”.The formation of femininity depends on social norms.Under the identity theory,women show their identity for the role of “wife” and “lover”,and they are created by the author's intention.Under the gender political theory,the female roles show the imagination of “men and women's equal rights”.With the influence of the workplace and the field,the female roles highlight the female subjectivity in the society and female subjective consciousness.The study found that the female characters in Chinese Time-travel TV Series have three major characteristics: women who pass through Chinese Time-travel TV Series have true temperament,dare to love and hate,have extraordinary knowledge and ability,and occupy a dominant position in the process of development;Women have unique temperament and independent personality,which contrast to the image of the weakness of traditional women.The change in emotions,status,and career of the heroine caters to the development of feminist trends.The “utopian” imagination of equality between men and women,and women's freedom implies the unfair treatment in the media environment,family environment and social environment.Finally,I hope this article provides some practical reference for women's self-perception,de-marginalization of discourse power,and social identity.
