In recent years,with the fast development of economy and the increasingly improved living standard,people are gradually breaking the traditional consumption view and paying more attention to the spiritual enjoyment.Tourism,a type of the light luxurious leisure activities,has become a popular way of amusement which promotes the booming development of the tourism industry and gives birth to all sorts of tourism products and tourism services.There also appear a mass of tourism discourses that have attracted extensive attention from experts and scholars at home and abroad.At the same time,with the quick progress of multimedia technology,the traditional form of the printed media can't satisfy the regular needs of publicity and some new forms of media like microblog,we-chat and so on are playing increasingly significant part in the social life.The most typical case is that various tourism APPs come out in succession,which have become people's important references and main support when they carry on the tourism activities.In view of this,the present thesis collects data from Ctrip APP,the top 1 on the ranking list of the tourism APP,and thereby explores the interdiscursive performance of the tourism discourse.The previous studies on tourism discourse mainly focus on the interpretation of the textual features and few analyze the generic resources by concentrating on the text-external factors.However,the core concept of CGA,interdiscursivity,lays more stress on the interpretation of the text-external resources.So this study tries to investigate the interdiscursive performance of the tourism discourse from the perspective of CGA.Specifically,the thesis carries out a three-dimensional analysis of the interdiscursive performance in tourism discourse through utilizing a multi-perspective model,which is built up by integrating Bhatia's(2017)levels of discourse realization and the six elements of tourism industry as well as the three elements of tourism culture.It firstly views interdiscursivity as the appropriation of discursive resources and examines the interdiscursive manifestations(What);Then it regards interdiscursivity as the appropriation of practical resources and uncovers how the interdiscursive performance functions in tourism practice from the perspective of discourse constructors and professionals(How).Finally,it turns to a more macroscopical view of culture,and treats interdiscursivity as the appropriation of cultural resources,and thereby demystifies the underlying reasons why the interdiscursive performance can promote the pragmatic success in tourism discourse(Why).Through the three-dimensional analysis,it is found that the interdiscursive performance is very prevalent in tourism discourse as a typical feature and a characteristic discursive strategy.The interdiscursive performance in the dimension of professional discourse is mainly presented as the appropriation of discursive resources,which is manifested mainly in the following four forms: blended interdiscursivity,embedded interdiscursivity,switched interdiscursivity,and chained interdiscursivity,to achieve the communicative purposes of introduction and promotion.Meanwhile,interdiscursive performance in the dimension of professional practice is mainly represented as the appropriation of practical resources.Some social activities such as education,wedding,fertility and the like that seemingly have no relevance with tourism practice are always the theme and aim of the tourism activities.These social practices are in fact colonized by tourism practice to adapt to the national conditions,cater to the needs of the majority of consumers as well as to conform to the conventional norms.This kind of appropriation is the backing for the smooth progress of professional practice.Finally,interdiscursive performance in the dimension of professional culture is in the form of the appropriation of cultural resources and mainly presented as the intersection and interaction across the tourism subject culture,tourism object culture,and tourism media culture.Tourism is itself a sort of consumption of tangible and intangible cultures,so it can't be separated from the mutual influence of tourism subject culture and tourism object culture.And the trait of the tourism development demands for the multipartite cooperation among various industries so there exist complicated relations within the tourism media culture.It's the combined action among the three main cultural elements that finally promotes the pragmatic success of the tourism discourse.The analysis of the interdiscursive performance in tourism discourse from the perspective of CGA can enrich the connotation of interdiscursivity,expand the scope of genre analysis,and thereby improve readers' critical awareness.It is hoped that the present investigation may provide some guidance and references for the professional discourse constructors,and also facilitate the further development and application of CGA.
