The Boundary Permeability And Political Participation Behavior Of Low Status Group: The Mediating Role Of Fair World Conviction

China's rapid economic development has been 30 years,Gini coefficient shows that the gap between the rich and the poor has been greater,may lead to the consolidation of existing social strata,thus triggering the changes in political activities,for the lower status groups,it is more likely to trigger negative events.Based on the social identity theory,social domination theory and system Justice Theory,this study explores the influence of relative deprivation and group boundary permeability on the political participation behavior tendency(institutional and non-institutional two dimensions)and the mediating role of the justice world belief in this process.Specifically,through the Mac Arthur subjective status scale to identify the high and low status groups,the use of 2(with or without relative deprivation)*2(the boundary permeability is high or low)situational reading material manipulated the relative deprivation,group boundary permeability,and using questionnaires to measure the justice world belief and political participation behavior tendency.The data analysis of 375 subjects after experiment and investigation showed that:1.In the subjective low status group,the relative deprivation has no significant correlation with the institutional and non-institutional political participation behavior tendency;2.For the subjective low status group,the higher the group boundary permeability is,the better the institutional political participation behavior tendency is,the more the non institutional political participation behavior tendency has no significant correlation.But for the subjective high status group,the group boundary permeability has no significant correlation with the institutional political participation behavior tendency and the non institutional political participation behavior tendency;3.For the subjective low status group,the impartial world belief plays a mediating role in the tendency of the infiltration of the group boundary and the institutional political participation.And further analysis is a part of the mediating effect,that is,the infiltration of the group boundary can directly and positively predict the institutional political participation behavior tendency.It can also predict the behavior tendency of institutional political participation by influencing the belief of the just world,but there is no mediating effect in the community boundary permeability and the non institutional political participation behavior tendency.
