“Childhood” is an eternal themes of literary creation.Narrative work about Childhood are often described in two perspectives of “adult-children” and two tenses of “past-present”.By double temporal narrative method, the emotional expressions and life perceptions of present and past are shown vividly. The features of Russian religious life was shown by the depiction of religious traditions and ethnic customs in Russian writers' childhood narrative works in the first half of the 20 th century.Based on the theory of “cultural memory”,the paper analyzes religious culture factor in the four works: Gorky's “Childhood”,Smelev's“The God's summer”,Bunin's “The Life of Aesenyev” and A Tolstoy's “Nikita's childhood”.These works reveal the cultural connotations of the Orthodox rites and the Orthodox festivals under the perspective of children. The paper points out that, there are two important characteristics in narrative effect of childhood narrative works in Russian literature in the first half of the 20 th century: Firstly, because of the limitation of children's cognitive ability and intellectual level, sometimes it is hard to reveal the essence in narrative. The infiltration of adult discourse makes up for the inadequacy in narrative of children's narrative perspective and makes the expression of works more pluralistic.Besides, the application of children's perspectives shows religious festivals and religious ceremonies in different styles. In the childhood narrative works of Russian literature in the first half of the 20 th century, the child protagonist showed his thinking and exploration of the adult's world in his religious life. The observation of the children's behavior and attention of their inner world reflected the writers' respect and care for children's life.In addition,in the first half of the 20 th century, the Russian immigrant writers' reproduction of the national religious tradition in his childhood narrative works proves to be an attempt to rebuild his spiritual home in literature.
