A Research On The Literature And Different Characters Of Vimalakirti Sutra

Vimalakirti sutra exists three Chinese translations,which have been included by successive dynasties' Tripitaka.At the same time,Dunhuang literature has more than one thousand volumes of paper documents of Vimalakirti sutra handed down.This paper lucubrates the different paper documents of Vimalakirti sutra with language research for the center,trying to find value of Vimalakirti sutra in the Research on modern Chinese characters and on collating of Buddhist literature.This paper mainly selects ZhiQian's translation of Vimalakirti sutra and its different text versions with the same message but different translation as the research object,then collates them by carefully comparing and textual researching them.In the specific process of collation,we use Taisho Tripitaka as the master copy,and cite Chinese Tripitaka(referred to as China Tibet)as well as Room by Rocks as collated material,simultaneously refer some Chinese local literature at various historical periods,correcting its mistakes as comprehensively as possible.The paper consists of three parts:First,introduction.This part mainly introduces the research status,the research contents and the research methods of Vimalakirti Sutra.The second,literature research of Vimalakirti Sutra.This part mainly introduces the situation of translation of Vimalakirti Sutra,and collection of Vimalakirti Sutra of Dunhuang paper literature.At the same time,we try to find the value of Vimalakirti sutra in the Research on modern Chinese characters and on collating of Buddhist literature.We are locking forward to arrange the Dunhuang paper literature of Vimalakirti Sutra and imagine the work that needs to be done.Third,the language research of Vimalakirti Sutra.This part mainly selects ZhiQian's translation of Vimalakirti sutra to research.We introduce the biography of ZhiQian and present situation of translation,compare collation of exclusive versions of Vimalakirti Sutra.including wrong words,missing words,derivative words and inverted words.We also research on the relationship between words,including variants interchangeable words,ancient and modern words,traditional and simplified characters.
