English is an important course in the primary education of our country.As a supplement and extension to the classroom teaching,English homework plays an important role in student's study.The author of this paper uses the theory of error analysis to analyze errors in junior high school students' English homework.First of all,the author employs text analysis to classify and make statistics about students' errors in their English writing homework(including lexical errors,syntactic errors,discourse errors and other errors).Through text analysis,the author found,compared with other errors,more lexical errors and syntactic errors are made by the students.Then a questionnaire survey conducted by the author shows that students attach importance to the English homework and they have the habit of recording English homework.Through questionnaires and interviews,the author finds that most teachers are busy with teaching work,but they do not pay enough attention to homework.They just check whether students finish their homework,and only explain the common errors in students' English homework while ignoring the individual error correction.Therefore,the quality of English homework cannot be improved for a long time.Finally,based on interviews with teachers and experts,the author puts forward strategies to improve the quality of English homework in the hope that English teachers can attach more importance to junior high school students' English homework so to improve the students' English learning effectively.
