General education is an integrated part of the talents development in foreign language universities.Efforts on the establishment of general education courses are an important measure to improve the nuturing mode and the quality of foreign language professionals.Curriculum development philosopy as a kind of ideology that can guide practical behavior,it plays a leading and forward-looking role in the practice of general curriculum development.Examining and reflecting on the philosophy of general education curriculum is a powerful way to restore the university spirit of foreign language universities.It is also the core issue that the specialized universities need to face under the background of "double-top-class" project.In conclusion,foreign language universities must stress the differentiation and complexity of developing general education courses while attaching importance to some unwaivering core of general education in historical development.That is to say,we must firstly see the differentiation and complexity of the construction of general education curriculum in foerign language universities,and we must also strengthen the invariance of the core of general education.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to do the research and reflect on idea of general curriculum construction in current foreign language universities.This thesie mainly uses material analysis,questionnaire,interview and classroom observation to systematically examine the idea of general curriculum construction in foreign language universities,including the following three aspects: First,the localization of general education in our country is in a process of historical development,different types of universities at different stages showed various characteristics.Also,it adapted to the historical stage of the development of higher education at that time.This paper analyzes the source and development status quo of the development of general education curriculum system in foreign language universities and provides sufficient guidance and theoretical basis for improving the construction of general education curriculum system in foreign language universites.Secondly,taking X University as an example,this study systematically analyzes some biases and misinterpretations of the current foreign language institutions in the idea of general education curriculum system,including the alienation of general education ideas in foreign language universities,the unbalance and disorder in the construction of general education curriculum,the contradiction between general education philosophy and teaching practice,the absence of supporting systems and elimination of feedback concepts and so on.Next,based on the above analysis of the existing deficiencies in the construction of the general education curriculum in foreign language universities,this study proposes the following countermeasures: Firstly,to reform the path of nuturing foreign language talents;Secondly,to refine the internal system of curriculum modules and to improve the efficiency of the general curriculum system;Thirldly,to strengthen the characteristic curriculum modules and to perfect the weak curriculum modules.Fourthly,to emphasize the optimization of teaching methods and to pay attention to the long-term supervision of the curriculum;Lastly,to unify courses management and to expand the communication channels between universities.
