With the rapid development of information technology,teaching technology has also been continuously updated.As a kind of new teaching method based on video,micro class has been recognized and affirmed by most people in today's teaching.However,there are less studies on the micro class related to English culture teaching in junior high school.Therefore,it is very necessary to do the experimental study of English culture teaching with micro class in junior high school.The purpose of this study is to explore the application effect and students' attitude of English culture teaching with micro class in junior high school.The subject is 120 students from two parallel classes of Grade Seven in the attached junior high school of Yan'an Vocational and Technical College.The experimental class has been taught English culture points with micro class while the control class used traditional teaching method.In the study,the students have been learned three culture points with micro class.Immediate tests have been performed after each culture class and a delayed test has been carried out two weeks later.In order to know students' attitude towards English culture teaching with micro class in junior high school,a survey and interviews have been carried out.SPSS data analysis software is used to do descriptive statistics and independent sample T test related.The main findings of this study are as follows:(1)For the immediate tests and the delayed test,there is a significant difference between the scores of experimental class and the control class.The score of the experimental class is better than that of the control class.(2)The survey includes three dimensions: learning interest,learning effect evaluation,and viewing effect.According to the descriptive statistics analysis of the three dimensions of the questionnaire,the mean value of each dimension is above 4,whichindicates that students are interested in micro class and support it.According to the interviews results,students in the experimental class gave positive answers as well.It indicates that the students in the experimental class positively support English culture teaching with micro class in junior high school.From this study,we can draw the following conclusions: The teaching effect of culture points with micro class is better than the traditional method,and students have a positive attitude towards it.
