The Tudor Dynasty,which transferred from the medieval ages to modern times,was the golden age in the history of England.In political system,the Tudor Dynasty not only inherited traditional trait of the medieval ages,but also innovated and advanced the original institutions.The Tudor Dynasty was the period of great transformation in society.The authority of church was affiliated to the power of monarch in the religious reform.The revolution of finance laid the foundation of the modern fiscal system.The reformation of local administration and judicature balanced between local autonomy and centralization.The revolution of political system enlarged the authority of central government.Furthermore,the reformation of the Privy Council was a part of the revolution of political system.This thesis researches the Tudor reformation of the Privy Council in three aspects.The first part introduces the background of reformation,analyses the development and trait of the Privy Council before the Tudor Dynasty,and points out the reason of the reformation during social transition period.The second part explores the contents and processes about reformation of the Privy Council.Most importantly,it explains the reason why the reformation is not only a gradual development but also a revolution.It also discusses the three processes and three contents about the reformation of the Privy Council.The third part evaluates the reformation of the Privy Council,indicates it plays a significant role in central departmentalization and local centralism,and strengthens the control of the thought field;but the reformation exist some defects including autocracy,improper government authority and no separation of function in government.In the Tudor's regime,the reformation of the Privy Council,which gradually realizes development and innovation,reinforces the power of the monarch.Of course,it enhances the communication between the central and local government,which also iswhat the local government expects and reflects the bilateral relation in the formation of unified nation.In the Tudor Dynasty,the Privy Council's reformation represents the authority of sovereign.Finally,it forms a central government including main ministers in the department and the king is in the council.
