A Speech Style Research On "The Plain" Of Bi Feiyu

Bi Feiyu is one of the most important writers in the contemporary Chinese literary world.Therefore this article selects "The Plain" as the research object,which serves as a connecting link between the preceding and the following of Bi Feiyu’s works.On the basis of stylistics and rhetoric,we comprehensively analyze the unique means of speech language of "The Plain" by using description,interpretation,quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis:Widely selects monosyllabic verbs,dialect words,colloquial words,idiomatic expressions and abusive language.“Fan’er”,“Ge wai” and “Man” exit frequently.The parallel phrase covers a considerable number of structural terms.“Zheng ju” and short sentence meet the eye everywhere.Rhetorical questions are often interspersed among them.The use of the words’ splitting and shifting is very unique,and the metaphor and the reference are extremely numerous.As a result,the whole speech style of "The Plain" is splendid,abundant,lucid,humorous,elegant and meanwhile vulgar.The factors which cause such special speech style include : the writer’s life experience,language accomplishment and culture literacy,the function of the novel’s background and main characters,and the style of the language materials and rhetoric.
