Study On Planar Quantifiers Of Modern Chinese

As one of the sino-tibetan characteristics being different from other language families,quantifier has been attracting language scholars' attention over the years.From different angles and research methods,scholars did the research of Chinese quantifiers on the diachronic and synchronic level.At present,academic circles mainly focused on the overall research about Chinese quantifiers,but less on the internal classifications of the quantifier.This thesis took planar quantifiers as the research object,doing the research based on Beijing university CCL corpus,using statistical analysis,qualitative and quantitative analysis methods,combining the theory of structural linguistics and cognitive linguistics theories,studying the semantic and syntax of planar quantifiers.The thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction.Mainly introduced the significance of the topic,the situation,objects and methods of the research in this paper.The second part is the syntactic function analysis of planar quantifiers.On the basis of Peking University CCL corpus,this thesis investigated and analyzed the base type of 13 planar quantifiers and four superimposed syntactic function,using the chart to show the quantifiers syntactic distribution function.The third part is the statistical analysis of the planar quantifiers based on the collocation from the corpus.Referring to the dictionary of modern Chinese quantifiers usage(2002),eight hundred words of the modern Chinese(2002)and the dictionary of modern Chinese function words(2001),we find out all the matched nouns in the combination of nouns and planar quantifiers in CCL corpus,and explained the semantic features of these nouns classifying.The fourth part is the influence factors analysis of planar quantifiers and nouns combination.This section,from the combination relationship of planar quantifiers and nouns,analyzed four aspects,including the conditions of semantic meaning of the noun selecting planar quantifiers,the conditions of planar quantifiers in the combination,the constraining context and the cognitive conditions.The fifth part is the conclusion.Summarized the achievements and shortcomings of this study.
