English extensive reading is an elementary compulsive course of tourism English profession in higher vocational college.It's a specialized training course to improve students' reading comprehension ability.On the one hand,the course plays an important role in enlarging the amount of students' vocabulary,expanding students' horizon,enhancing their reading comprehension ability.On the other hand,it complements the other English language courses simultaneously,such as,English intensive reading;English listening comprehension and oral English.The course also lays the foundations for the following specialized course.It's an essential part to realize the goal of personnel training.Therefore,the teaching design is vital for English extensive course.The effective teaching design is the necessary condition for high-quality teaching effect,and successful education.Overall?optimized teaching design of English extensive course is the key factor to train students with specialized skill and relatively formidable English application ability.The author finds some questions from the practical course teaching,and analyzes several reasons which caused these questions through research.Based on the foundation of some information about teaching design and higher vocational English teaching reform,the author analyze the social requirement for vocational tourism English talents,the students 'intelligence level,and their demand for professional career development.According to the personnel training goal of tourism English profession,the author deeply elaborates the five aspects of contents of teaching design for existed questions.I'm able to apply the teaching design result to English extensive course teaching,and reflect,improve,perfect gradually in practice.The paper consists of five parts,the research contents as follows:Part ? is the preface.The major contents include define the relevant concepts,the research background,significance,purpose,content,methods,etc.and review the current research situation at home and abroad.Part ? is the research between personnel training of higher vocational tourism English profession and English extensive reading course.The thesis generally discusses the aim and specifications of personnel training of tourism English profession.Based on the nature andfunction of English extensive reading course,the author analyze the relationship between the course and personnel training of tourism English,which could provide powerful evidence for the necessity of teaching design research of English extensive reading course.Part ? is the analysis for teaching situation and existed problems of English extensive reading of higher vocational tourism English profession.The teaching situation is mainly about teachers' education and students' study,and then exactly analyzes the teaching aim,teaching contents and process evaluation of English extensive reading course.Part ? is the center of research.On the base of the former third part,the teaching design research from the following five aspects is conduced,To set curriculum goal according to the requirement of society and students;To analyze students' knowledge standard;To organize the teaching contents following the rule of “first base ? then combination”;To ensure the teaching strategy with the combination of tradition and modern;To construct teaching evaluation widely and quantitatively.Part ? is the implementation and reflection of English extensive reading teaching design of higher vocational college.This teaching design mainly implemented in Hebei Tourism Vocational College,used for second-year students of tourism English profession,and then the paper reflects the weak points of teaching design research objectively,which through the analysis of implement result and implement process,finally,got a conclusion.The study is beneficial for improving teaching quality,realizing the curriculum goal of higher vocational English extensive reading course,especially playing an important role for personnel training goal of tourism English profession.The author is desired to offer practicable mode and approach for teaching design research of vocational English course.
