Since the first cartoon moviePrincess Iron Fanwasreleased in 1941,our Chinese have made many classical cartoons that are closely combined with traditional Chinese culture.Among all elements in these masterpieces,the image of hobgoblin,which owns an oriental charm and the most spot lights,are the very spirits of the whole movie.However there are more and more critical voices recently as Chinese cartoon industry seems be fading away after its access to the peak,which is closely related in the ignorance of tradition Chinese culture nowadays.As a name card of Chinese cartoonsor even a represent of Chinese people nature,hobgoblins are very important parts in the traditional culture.It is also necessary to make a further study in listing and analyzing its usage in Chinese cartoons.Chapter 1 will mainly introduce the initial release of hobgoblin image in Chinese cartoon movie(1926)as well as its contributions until the year of 1965(Start of the Culture Revolution).From 1926 to 1965,China's animated films were mainly picked by the Wan brothers.From 1926.Most of the domestic animated movies in this period have the "Wan's" label,and the production techniques and concepts come down in one continuous line,so it can be divided into a period.Chapter 2 will summarize the educational meaning of hobgoblin images which are folklore related from 1977 to 1989(New time after the Culture revolution).This period of cinema is not yet popular,animated film is more as an educational tool planned in primary and secondary schools,rural free play,there is no commercial,so it can be divided into a period.Chapter 3 will discuss why and how the Chinese cartoon movies and hobgoblin image transform under the path of digital times(1990-2000).In the digital age,with the change of public aesthetics and the formation of Chinese and foreign co-production mechanism,the commercial nature of animated movies began to highlight.More and more "family merry monsters" appeared.The image of monsters began to become more entertaining,and the traditional educational function also became obvious."Of course" has been gradually weakened.After 2000,driven by animated movies,games,fantasy movies and TV series,the image of the monster,its background and significance,as well as tremendous changes have taken place.The image of the monster also presents new features,such as the ability to rely on new production technology and special effects technology to build new monster images at will,and No longer deliberately based on traditional monster culture,and the overall style of the monster animation film with Europe,the United States,Japan is getting closer and closer.It is precisely this change that makes a clear gap between the monster image in the new century animated movies and the monster image in the last century.The monster image in the new century animated movies has become a new research topic,which makes the scope of this study have to stop in 2000.The essay hopes to highlight the importance of hobgoblin image in Chinese cartoon movies by finding its meaning in Chinese traditional culture.We Chinese need the soil of traditional to make new bigger progress in the cartoon movie industry.
