In the process of world film theory,the second film semiotics of Christian Metz has epoch-making significance.Unlike the research perspective limited to film text,Metz introduced psychoanalysis theory into the field of film research for the first time,and explored the heart between the audience and the audience.Since then,the study of world film theory has crossed the period of the classical film theory and opened the door of the research of modern film theory.In order to express the theory,this article adopts the dichotomy of the study course of the semiotics,which is recognized by the academic circles,and divides the semiotics into the first film semiotics theory and the first Film semiotics theory.In this paper,the formation of the second film semiotics theory,the core research content,value and contribution of three aspects of its in-depth,detailed elaboration.This paper mainly expounds the forming basis of Metz's second film semiotics theory,and divides it into two parts: the method foundation and the ontology foundation.In terms of research methods,the first theoretical study of film semiotics is the study of film text ontology based on Saussure's and Roland Bart's structuralist linguistics.Since the object of the theoretical study of the first film semiotics is confined to the ontology of the film text,it gradually moves towards a self-closed dead end,while the theoretical study of the second film semiotics adopts the method of combining linguistics and psychoanalysis.In order to complete the semiotics research from the first stage to the second stage of the transition.In ontology foundation On the other hand,Metz's first film semiotics theory is the solid foundation for the establishment of his second film semiotic theory.The main research contents include the analysis of the film language characteristics,the theory of the eight compositional segments and the code system.This paper mainly expounds the main research contents of the second film semiotics theory of Metz.In the theoretical study of the second film semiotics,Metz first redefines the nature of the film from the two aspects of the characteristics of imagination and the attributeof signifier,that is,the film is the signifier of imagination.This paper mainly expounds the relationship between the audience and the film through the identification of the self-viewing behavior,the recognition of the camera and the identity of the movie characters under the mechanism of the film mirror identity.Metz also cited the peepy in psychoanalytic theory,the concepts of exposure and fetishism,and the motive force for film creation and appreciation.After that,Metz analyzes the similarities and differences of the two through the comparison between the watching state and the dream turning state.It mainly explains the value and contribution of Metz's second film semiotics theory.The second film semiotics theory of Metz is the inheritance and development of its first film semiotics.Its establishment not only enriches the research contents of the whole film semiotics,but also studies the film ideology.Feminist film research provides reference value;facing the serious disconnection between film theory construction and film practice in our country,we can still get inspiration and reference from the second film semiotics theory of Metz.
