As the official language of international communication,the importance of English is self-evident.Especially in the junior high school stage,the students need to attend the entrance examination,and English is one of the subjects that must be tested,so the students attach great importance to this subject.Students' English learning achievement will be affected by many factors.Family,as one of the external factors that affect learners' language learning,will have a certain impact on junior high school students' English learning.At present,scholars at home and abroad have carried out a lot of research in this field,and have also achieved a wealth of research results.However,in different countries or regions,the conclusions of the study are often very different,family factors and the impact of students' academic performance will vary greatly because of national and regional differences.Therefore,the research on family factors on junior middle school students' English learning in this area has strong theoretical and practical significance.In this paper,I select the students of grade eight in Fu' ling Experimental middle school as the research object,and I followed the research process of "determining the research object,pre-sending questionnaire,sending questionnaire,collecting questionnaire-data,analyzing the questions,making suggestions" to find out whether family factors will affect the academic achievement of junior high school students.Based on that,this paper will answer the following research questions: first,will the factors of family socio-economic background have an impact on students' English achievement? Second,will the factors of family process variables have an impact on students' English achievement?This paper,through relevant literature review,analyzes the impact of family factors on students' learning both at home and abroad,and know about the relevant research status of Chinese and foreign researchers on the impact of different family factors on students' learning.Then,this paper writes down the theoretical basis related to this content.Based on that,the author conducted a questionnaire survey on five classes in grade eight of Fu' ling Experimental Middle School(In order to reduce the impact of school on children,the author specially selects the same school students of the same grade as the objects of the study).On the basis of controlling the variable,the family structure of the students(parents and one-child families),there are 111 families meet this condition.This paper uses Excel and SPSS23.0 statistical software to input,process and analyze the survey data.The main analytical methods are descriptive statistics and variance analysis.Through the study,it was found that:1.Family socio-economic background(parents' educational background,occupation and income): parents' educational background and income have influence on students' English achievement.2.Family process variables: 1)The economic investment of families in English education has an impact on students' English achievement.2)The time and energy investment of families in English education has an impact on students' English achievement.Finally,according to the findings of the study,the author summarizes the influence of family factors on junior high school students' English learning effect,and puts forward corresponding constructive suggestions on family,and also analyzes the shortcomings of this study.
