The interpreting practice report is based on an interpreting practice about design concepts in engineering lecture of Shenyang Institute of Engineering on May 8th,2018.The interpreter analyzes the on-site interpreting recordings for more than one hour with relevance theory to find the typical problems during the interpreting and combines with interpreting tactics to solve specific problems in the process of interpreting. This interpreting practice report consists of four chapters. The first chapter is task description, which is mainly carried out from the background of the task and the purpose of the task. The aim is to explain the practice in detail and pave the way for this practice report. The second chapter is the task process, which has three aspects:pre-interpreting preparation, interpreting process and post-interpreting assessment. In this chapter, the interpreter describes some preparations before the interpreting, like learning about relevant materials by communicating with the lecturer and accumulating professional knowledge and vocabulary by searching on the Internet. The interpreter then describes the interpreting practice in detail. After the practice, the interpreter gets the evaluations of this interpreting process and does a self-assessment.The third chapter is case study.Firstly, the interpreter introduces relevance theory, optimal relevance and consecutive interpreting under the relevance theory.Secondly, based on this interpreting practice, the interpreter gives specific analysis to the typical sentences, mainly from the cases that don't have a good effect on understanding and the coping tactics. The last chapter is the summary part of the practice report.
