A Study On Song Yu Evaluation Research

As the earliest literati in Chinese history,Song Yu seems to be far less important than Qu Yuan in the history of Chinese literature.Both his personal deeds and his works are not as widely circulated as Qu Yuan.Historically,there are different opinions about Song Yu and his works.Some people compare him with Qu Yuan,while others think that he is only a literary servant who flatters the king.Especially in the modern and contemporary academic circles,there was a trend of criticizing Song Yu,which made Song Yu almost worthless.Fortunately,with the collation of unearthed cultural relics and the further study,the value of Song Yu in the history of literature has not been completely erased.Some scholars have re-examined Song Yu and his works with a view to "overturning the case" for Song Yu.One of the important reasons for the inconsistency of Song Yu's evaluation is the different nature of Song Yu's poems and fus.Although Song Yu is a writer of Chu Ci,only one of his works,Nine Debates,is confirmed to be Song Yu's Chu Ci without controversy,and the other dozens are all works of Fu.Song Yu is not so much a writer of Chu Ci as a writer of Fu.Song Yu's numerous Fus are closely related to his status as a literary servant.He was appreciated by the King of Chu for his good works and became a literary servant.To a certain extent,his status as a literary servant contributed to his success.But it is precisely this identity that makes his works controversial in later generations and makes his position in the history of Chinese literature rise and fall.Therefore,it is necessary to re-examine Song Yu and his works.On the basis of fully understanding Song Yu's people and his works,Song Yu should be evaluated as objectively as possible to restore historical truth.In this paper,the above work has been done.On the basis of understanding Song Yu and his works,we fully understand the different nature of Song Yu Ci and Fu,and re-evaluate Song Yu in combination with the literary value of Song Yu Fu.Previous discussions on Song Yu's life stories and the authenticity of his works have reached a general consensus in academic circles.Therefore,this paper does not discuss this issue,but defines it with reference to more authoritative viewpoints in the introduction.The main body part summarizes the general characteristics of the evaluation of Song Yu from Han to Qing Dynasty,points out the rationality and unreasonability of these evaluation,and analyses the reasons for the extremely inconsistent evaluation,and further explores the objective basis for the evaluation of Song Yu.Finally,combining with the important influence of Song Yuzhi's Fu on the history of Chinese literature,this paper makes an objective reappraisal of Song Yuzhi as far as possible.
