International Cultural Game And Safeguarding Cultural Security Of China

In the era of globalization,the extensive circulation of cultures across geographical boundaries,competition and cooperation caused by different cultural strengths,and assimilation and integration resulting from cultural contacts constitute the cultural game phenomenon that exists extensively in the international community.A comprehensive and accurate understanding of this cultural game phenomenon has important strategic significance for promoting national cultural development and resisting cultural hegemony and safeguarding cultural security.This study attempts to combine culture,sociology,politics,communication,international relations and other multi-disciplinary knowledge and case analysis methods.The international cultural game is defined as the representative entities of different cultures who,after making cultural contacts,because of their differences or identities,adopt strategies of exclusion or integration in order to gain cultural,political,economic,and other benefits,eventually led to a dynamic process of intercultural assimilation or fusion.Then divide the culture game into two categories: assimilation and integration based on the definition of concepts.In the fusion type,according to the strategy adopted by the game,it is divided into three categories:active adaptive,passive miniature,and multi-win-win.At the same time,this article summarizes the three characteristics of the cultural game: the inequality of the participants,the form of non-zero-sum game,and the complexity of the game process.The countries that are currently in a weak position in the cultural game have to resist the erosion of external cultural hegemony and deal with various internal cultural security crises.Cultural hegemony requires a discourse system that has “universal”values,a strong cultural output industry,and a monopoly;cultural security is threatened by the fragility of ethnic identity,the long-term deficit in cultural trade,and the lack of international discourse power.The cultural strategy adopted by the United States to seek cultural hegemony and the protection measures implemented by Russia to safeguard cultural security have provided lessons for China's current cultural development.China's participation in the international cultural game has experienced four historical stages: learning widely,stagnating weaknesses,gradually taking the initiative,more active.At present,China is still in a weak position in the international cultural game.Therefore,we must not only absorb the experience of cultural development in culturally powerful countries,but also formulate cultural security strategies in line with our ownreality,establish a cultural security system,consolidate cultural identity,and enhance the cultural industry.Strength and create an international discourse system.
